Prolly around November overseas (Big N wanna get the Wii out before the PS3 launches), hopefully this year here.

Xbox is here now dude. (Well Sept 29) Nintendo's always been here, they're brought in by Panasonic: www.nintendo.co.za.

Unfortunately their marketing and support is non existant, but the do bring the stuff in. It took them a month to bring the the DS Lite. Biggest hardware launch this year and they didn't even squeak about it, I found out when Take2 updated my wishlist

I have a right mind to ask Nintendo EU to intervene . . .

Their marketing is appalling, even worse than Nintendo's normal sub-standard marketing.

To their credit the Gamecube's local price was not that much over the UK price.

I haven't compared DS prices yet, but they're easy to import so the local price will have to be good for me to buy one locally.

The local price for a DS is pretty comparable to the UK, it's ~R1400, www.Take2.co.za, BT games and www.nintendo.co.za all have stock, white and black.

Well just got a response from one Gareth Harvey at Panasonic:

"We will only know the exact date of the Wii into SA by the end of September, but we know it is somewhere between Nov06 – Feb07."

The DS is something I'd just get from the US. Probably get the games from there as well.
