Weird post problem

Okay, this one is weird.. Sometimes intermittently my pc will just halt on boot (even though the status _ is flashing)

Usually I get the following...

Building DMI pool....
and then it boots into windows as normal.

but sometimes I get the following...
Building DMI pool......................................... Flash Rom Protected

and it just halts. There's no flashrom protection option in bios anywhere. I have just cleared my cmos, and so far so good. Would just like to know why.

Board = Gigabyte GA-M55S-S3 - F6 Bios Version

Did the problem start after you installed new software? The only other thing I can think of is maybe a power surge/ trip corrupted your bios.

Absolutely nothing changed on your pc immediately prior to you having this problem?

Nope, but it seems fine since I cleared the Cmos...touch wood
