what are the new IP ranges?

I remember at some stage Sentech used (still uses?) different IP ranges to seperate out their bandwidth pools.
It could be that iBurst is using IP ranges to dessiminate the capped from the uncapped?

wbs SHOULD make there IP Reverse DNS to each base station,

like for example 196.2.110.00.NORTCLIFF.BS.WBS.CO.ZA

A theory in the making...

Ok, I am going to take a stab in the dark here, and say that I think WBS are still assigning the old 196.46 block of WBS iBurst IPs to certain customers [obviously when they reconnect].

IMO the criterion for assigning an old 196.46.x.y IP address - customers that WBS' system says have used up all of their allocated bandwidth & need to be throttled to ~64kBits/s.

IMO the new block of WBS iBurst IP addresses is assigned to those customers [obviously when they reconnect] that WBS' system says still have allocated bandwidth available.

I do not have confirmation of this theory either way, however it is what I suspect to be the case.

Who knows maybe they going to have 3 GIG assign special ips once we reach the cap we going to get 196.46 who knows. All the ips are changing but i see some ppl have the new Ip ONCE THEY re connect to IBURST network maybe www.afrinic.net , but ive been hearing loads of complains about 196.46 ips due to spam and other stuff. AOL was going to ban the whole block, maybe they changed of ip range but who knows, we'll know when someone gets 196.46 bandwidth is getting consumed to much

Yep, I tend to agree, from what I have just seen, there is a fly in this theory of mine - some confusing X factor that doesn't make sense .
