I see a lot of misinformation and confusion about what a Prepaid account is.
Get asked a lot by my family and friends when it comes to different types of packages that ISP's offer.

First we have to look at what does Prepaid mean to ISP's.
You pay X amount for bandwidth and have a time limit in which to use up that service(bandwidth). No monthly billing !
This is a true Prepaid system.

If you get billed monthly for bandwidth and the amount of unused bandwidth get carried over to the next month then you can't call that service Prepaid.
It's more of a rollover type service.

Hope that helps some of you when looking at ISP's and services offered by them.
And if any of my family or friends ask me about this again I will be sending them to this thread :D

Don't forget a third option - 'Pay As You Go' prepaid which doesn't expire.

EDIT - PAYG doesn't require a monthly commitment to the ISP.
