ouch!!!
That's the downside of p2p/torrents.

Picture this:
You're surfing on Youtube (on a 384K link). A 1Mb clip will take 20seconds to load, roughly. On a 4Mb link, this will take 2seconds, assuming things are working as they should. Now, a group of kiddies, highly entertained by the variety of clips, , can grab 300Mb's worth of data (allowing for a minute here and there to find clips). In an hour, that's 1.8Gb. On a 384K line, they'll only manage 160Mb.
Even with some lag and less-than-perfect speeds, you could still run up a Gig in an hour on 4Mbps, easily.
Capiche?
I think his point is, that you *won't* be using the internet the same way with 4mb.Ekhaatvensters said:Still don't see why there would be a big difference if you still use the internet the same way.
Most people watch the videos on Youtube, they don't download them.
1.4GB in one day (on a 512K DSL line).
Capped out at 6.4GB today (on a 3GB account).
Hey, I got my slice...![]()
I never really got this.
How would the streaming video use more bandwidth on a 4mb line? The video is going to load either way, the games will still use the same amount. 384 might not be able to stream the video so they might get through fewer vids, but nothing major.
btw FPS games do use up quite a lot, even just a few hours a day. Especially if you only have 3GB..
not bad i must say....
i did 12gigs in 10hours![]()
