What open source accounting software is in your opinion the best?

It should be able to handle the accounting of a small business as well as give you the ability to create a stock list, generate quotations, pro-forma invoices and tax invoices.

More specifically, it is for a company that provides hosting, web design, hardware and software sales and support.

Turbocash - loads a pre-determined set of books by industry (you choose which industry). Maybe one of them suits you ?

You can also try http://sourceforge.net/projects/compiere it is much more than an accounting package....it may just be a bit over kill for a small bussiness.
Seems a very comprehensive package, but you are probably correct in your assumption that it is a bit over-kill for a new small business. Something to keep in mind though for when our company becomes a huge success.:)

Looks like Cubit and Turbocash are the two options most suited to a SMB at present. Will have a run through both of them. Hopefully it will be fairly painless to import (or incorporate) a product and price list as well as to mdoify the quotes,PF and tax invoices to my company scheme.

Thanks for the input, it is very much appreciated.
