What sets ISP’s apart?

So I am moving to a complex that unfortunately only has MetroFibre as an option.

Seems most ISP’s have pricing pretty similar to one another with a 50Mbps speed.
Mweb however at R799 vs Afrihost/Cool ideas at R899.

Any reason for or against certain ISP’s with MetroFibre?

Mweb you not going to be able to email/log tickets or anything with their support from what i have heard and seen is pretty bad of recent times, where CISP and Afrihost have amazing knowledgeable people on here @PBCool & @AfriNatic, would happily rather pay R100 more to be able to talk to someone that doesn't respond with a script and that can actually help should the issue not be able to be resolved by tier 1 support.

Piggybacking on this thread.

Any reason to choose Vuma over OpenServe on the same ISP or vice versa? Other than price, which looks like much of a muchness these days.

Vuma has symetrical speeds and offers 1Gig - OS has asymetrical and also tops out at 500Mbps... OS iS cheaper though

I can't speak for Vumatel, but Openserve is really stable. Their network engineers know what they're doing and in my experience they actually solve capacity issues.

Im on metro and with Rocketnet - very happy. Hardly ever any downtime, and when there are issues their whatsapp contact guy opens cases with MFN and we're usually sorted out within a few hours

Were on a 200meg line, and at netflix time (Mon-Sat 7-10PM) I still get ~20 meg on a single thread to my seedbox, so livable amounts of shaping when their capacity is tight

Rest of the time full speed up and down irrespective of port

This. I am a calm, reasonable, rational man, but MWeb had me screaming obscenities down the phone while threatening to cut myself.

Cool Ideas, nice, no problems, doesn’t even get to the point where I have to phone them because they actually answer emails.
