It will need to be free so consumers can purchase 3G from their ISP's for R250 pm. Else it will be too expensive. Obviously, there needs to be a 1G deal at around R80 pm. This will be the obvious option for most housholds.
And worst of all: Telkom will make piles of money selling bandwidth at incredible rates to local ISP's as people start to slowly enjoy "Local is lekker".

Currently paying R147 for line and Infinitcall + approx R240 for calls to be online all the time during callmore. Thus: ADSL needs to be less expensive than R400 to entice me. I don't care about speed, I just want uncapped bandwidth![]()
Maybe I just have low standards, but dial up will do that to you.

ISDN/Line Rental + InfinitCall + ISP + Calls

HomeDsl192 = advertised as R279
What they dont say is line rental R80.70
ISP = R239
So the total is ~R600
If they dont sneak something else onto the account as well.
Wankers.
Advertising like that should be illegal. Isn't it?
Cant we sue them!?
Lets make a documentary....

Telkom hasn't implimented it because it will lose money...
Simple as that...
Another reason why we need competition!
