I've not had great luck with these guys.

One cut my account due to insufficient use when I didn't receive a fax for some ridiculously short period of time.
Another sold my email address to spammers.
And my latest experience has been half a dozen faxes sent by impatient clients that are now not even arriving.

So who are the current recommended services? (No I don't have a Telskum and I don't plan to install one :p )

I think that the Telkom one is the best. You pay an extra R10 odd per month and get it tagged on your number so if your number was 0111234567 you would get a fax number of 0880111234567. People faxing you pay normal rates instead of the inflated rates that other guys charge.

Be careful of all of these services, they get really expensive for people sending you faxes:

"Telkom charges the fax sender R2.02 per minute including VAT to send to a 0866 number - The 0866 Subscriber is not charged to receive faxes on this service"

This whole fax to email story is really crazy (price wise) when they bolt them on to the 0866 numbers. It's better to go for the Telkom mail-manager plus:

http://www.telkom.co.za/athome/services/mailmanager/index.html

which is R11.40 inc VAT per month.

It's only a matter of time before people like discovery, the banks etc stop sending faxes to these premium numbers.

Does that cost for the sender apply to all fax2email services or only 0866 numbers?

I have recently joined Nashua Broadband and they offer the service free of charge and the number is an 0860 one. How do I find out the cost for the sender on this number?
