Which Phone For Business?

My business partner went for the P990 and it’s riddled with firmware bugs. Personal ring tones don’t work if blue tooth is on, it hangs at least 10 times a day requiring the battery to be removed and drops loads of calls compared to her P910.

I was going to go for one but after her experience think I will wait.

Hopefully will all be fixed in the next firmware release if it survives her frustrations!!!

Is this with the standard firmware or with the VLive firmware?

@RVFmal sorry haven't been here for a couple of days.

Its with the VLive firmware but she has been told to hang on as a new firmware release that "fixes everything" is to be released soon. Must admit looking on international forums most of the problems seem to happen with or without the Vodacom branding.

Can't believe that this phone was held back for so long and yet it has soo many firmware problems!

I have been using the p990i for a while now... And I can honestly say that I have had no trouble at all. Mine is a unbranded model and running the R7 firmware version.

The only hangup is the available ram story. However, if you use Swiss Manager, it seems to sort it out.

Hopefully the next firmware version will resolve this.

Put in the freetext block right in the end "qwerty" , this makes the selection much smaller.

The phones that popped out in my selection was

I-mate Jasjam AKA HTC TyTN.
and
Nokia E70

..i have the Nokia E70 , very happy with it , my main criteria however was that i would be using it more as a phone than PDA [in other words i will be carrying it with me all day] .

The Jasjam and Tytyn are not the same phone, although VERY simalar.

I personally have the nokia e70, and am loving it. It has amazing functionality and the screen quality and display are perfect for readin pdf's or other docs. The wifi option is amazing especially cause it has a sip phone built in. A cool little app called truphone is an amazing voip phone.

HTC TyTn

Hi, I've had my TyTn for three weeks now and it is a mobile office with no probs. Battery life may be a bit iffy though- although it charges happily while attached to my laptop- so its ready to go at full power when ever I step out of the office- Its great- keypad is not too small- only complaint I have is the buttons on the side are place in the way- so just holding it might activate something else- like the camera.
otherwise it does the job quite well- includes touch screen notepad- which saves me typing.

:D
