Why you should upgrade to Windows 10

I doubt it. You never asked how I work, and MS browsers have been quite horrid.

F-off stealing my data. Not for you. Poeth.

AND...

Forced updates, chowing my bandwidth, slowing my leeching.

Calling home with personal data, bypassing hosts file, not telling me that. F-off.

Claiming rights to control software on my machine. F-off.

No reasons to upgrade that I can see.

My Lenovo X230 came with Win 7 Pro. It's an i7 with 16 GB RAM and a 250 GB SSD. I won't be replacing it for years to come. Guess I'll wait.

If it improves gaming then I'll install it on my gaming PC though. But in the preview my back USB ports and sound stopped working. So I'll wait a few months while you early adopters sort out the bugs for me.

I fully agree, and this is the sole reason why Win8 failed as all computers came with Win8 pre-loaded.
Win8 users luv win10 because it looks the same etc etc... with a tiny bit of Win7 added.
Win10 will fail in the long run unless they seriously incorporate many more Win7 stuff.

Such as? The only problems I am having with Windows 10 is that the start menu randomly decides to stop working. Clicking start/windows key does nothing. Restarting the PC twice solves it, the first time windows recognizes and pops up saying critical error detected, wanting to sign out. Then restart again and it installs windows updates, which sort it out.

Some manufacturers still ship their computers with Windows 7 Pro. Even if you had Windows 8 installed, you were allowed to downgrade to Windows 7 (I think only pro users were allowed to downgrade?). Manufacturers even allowed you to downgrade via the recovery utility if you were allowed to downgrade your os to Windows 7.

I had that on my Mecer PC that had Win 7 Pro when it came out, replaced by the IT department with an older version " because they could not support Win 7", restored by me when the PC became mine, and now up[graded to WIN 10 because I want the guaranteed on going support.

But the auto upgrade failed. I had lots of things that were not working ( start menu, one drive, Dropbox, etc, etc,), so I ended up trying to revert to Win 7. That failed, so I was left with making use of the "reset" option. 9 hours later, WIN 10 Pro now works correctly and I am getting used to it ----- It is years since my PC has worked so well -- the reset must have got rid of a lot of BS that normally comes from IT departments and their hang ups ---- They never explain what they are up to, send yahoos who log into your PC using their own backdoors and generally **** off all ! Very glad to be out of their clutches!



I think it is a move forward and not so bad to learn to use. MS Edge is a problem though, no extension or add-on support so I have retained and use IE11 when a need to.

Win & users can access the free upgrade until at least July 2016 -----
