Wii Power Supply

If a product says it does one thing, or thing case is meant to not do something (make noise) and it does the alterior, change it. Although downloading the 120mb update 3 times can be rather exhausting and expensive.

Tell me about it. I had to do the update for the 2nd time. To be honest I'm not too worried anymore about the PSU. I'll see how Cathryn goes with her replacement.

I heard it this morning! Its buzzing! And my 360 is in for repairs! Back to the PC I guess...

According to BT Games it is a Core Gaming issue (they sent me the Core Gaming warranty document). So don't even bother taking it back to BT if you bought it from them

Aargh! Never thought of having to redownload the update! Oh well, maybe they'll just swap out the power supply and will send me back my own console :(

Good, then I was right in going straight to Core. They're coming to pick it up today, I'll keep everyone posted on what happens.

Lol. I just got a reply from Core (I mailed them at nintendo at core over the weekend, before andytl5 gave me the more specific email address).

Very helpful reply, they told me to phone their tech support department who would figure out what to do. Didn't even give me an email address for them, just the phone number.

So thanks, you saved me a couple of days and a lot of frustration :-)

An update, for those who are interested - Core have said that they've evaluated the power supply and spoken to Nintendo Europe and concluded that it is safe. So they're going to send it all back to me while they source replacement power supplies, and then send me a replacement one when they get them.

So hopefully I'll have it back for the weekend. I must say that overall I've been impressed with Core's tech support.

Cathryn,

Please keep us updated as to the replacement Power supplies ... would like to replace mine, but will only contact them once they have the replacements in stock

Thanks

If anyone's interested in an update - well, there isn't one.

I'm still waiting.

Every few weeks I mail them again, and I'm either ignored or told that the replacement PSU's will be coming 'soon'. I was offered one from their swap-out stock, which apparently 'buzz less', but that's it.

I'm really getting irritated with Core.
