They might give it a clean and maybe a polish but iStorePreOwned grades their phones best/better/good etc so there will be visible, even if only subtle, signs of wear and tear.

When you buy a refurbished device from Apple it's absolutely pristine with a new case and new battery. It's essentially brand new.

As far as I've been able to determine Apple refurbs are only available for sale in [some] countries with an official Apple presence.
