What ping times do you get to the Saix game servers?

40-50ms?

And don't you experience any lag?
 
I'm using an unshaped webafrica prepaid adsl account to connect my xbox 360 over the wimax connection. I play FIFA 07 against international players almost every night and i must say i'm very impressed. I rarely experience any lag. You just have to make sure that you connect to a game that has max amount of bars in the connection speed indicator.

I experience no lag at all, actually sometime some of the other players experience lag and complain while I'm playing smoothly!!!! As for ping on SAIX or MWEB servers on my side I get 60 - 90ms others see my ping on there side at between 15 - 20ms. I have noticed that sometimes pings are slightly higher than usual, but then it affects everyone and everyone complains! I am getting the same as the guys on ADSL!!

There is nothing negative I can say about WIMAX, I couldn't be happier!!!!:p

I want to see what happens when more and more people start connecting to the Wimax tours. It will be interesting to see how the latency is affected...

I doubt it will change at all, when you hit the base station its on top of a Telkom exchange where you get dropped straight into the very same ATM network as ADSL DSLAMs.
 
That cost is only the wimax access rental fee, like the "DSL line rental", so still have to get your own ISP with whatever cap they supply - like with dsl

I just got called by a telkom rep, telling my that the installation of my adsl line has been moved further ANOTHER 2 months to Feb next year. She then told me that in my situation I qualify for wimax and that the installation should take no more than 2-3 weeks at most. If Telkom pulls that of I'll be impressed...
 
Wow lucky you, the only Telkom can offer me is free telephone line installation. Told them to stuff it unless they can supply me with DSL or WiMax.:mad:
