Win XP hotfixes for Dual Core CPUs?

I heard from a friend of mine that there are Hotfixes for Dual Core CPUs. Is this true? Does it make a difference? Where can I find them?

If there are any patches or hotfixes you'd most likely get them on windows update, or amd.com, but more likely windows update.

rather just and only install the AMD dual core optimizer ... found on amd.com site ...don install the drivers
