(CNN) -- More business people around the globe are freeing themselves up from the shackles of dialup and wired Internet access.

Wi-Fi or wireless-enabled computers. are now connecting up to the Internet from thousands of locations around the globe.

Many airport terminals and business lounges, as well as hotels, convention centres, coffee shops and restaurants have wireless hotspots...

Wifi overseas is great: Most decent hotels in the US and South-eastern asia provide "Free and Fast broadband" to all areas of the hotel.

Airport and railway terminals usually have a cover charge - the worst that I came across was in Zurich International, where 1 hour costed 22.50 Euro - but it was stupidly fast, I was pulling like 2 mbit.

Many cities in the US are also starting to get municipal wi-fi (if the state telecoms don't prevent it), which is also awesome.
