WISP's: Dishes/Grids (CPE's) & Estates

There's nothing that jumps out and screams; "Buy me".

We've got people contacting us, requesting meetings during Africacom.

All we have running on DataTill is the hotspot side of the business. We're not overly fussed if Herotel (or the rest of the world) see that we make less than R10K a month out of that. Maybe this is the excuse we need to kill all the hotspots.

What equipment are you guys mainly using for Hotspot AP's? MT?

We've got a couple running as well - not worth it in my opinion. Did get a view monthly clients because of it (the Restaurant ones) - so that's pretty much the only reason we keep them up. Still seem to get two or three clients every two months or so from them.

Any recommendations on DPI? We've looked into NetEqualizer which looks very impressive but very expensive. Think it'll be worth it but more options are always good.

Appreciate the feedback

Being based in Argentina - does bring it's own set of problems with time difference, support is not uber good or speedy. Have a mate running their WISP on it - apparently the latest version is stable and bugs a thing of the past. We've implemented it for R&D about 8 months or so ago but that version was highly unstable and very buggy.

I wonder id it's compatible with SAIX. We're looking for something that we can use to connect to Telkom's Wholesale ftth network. This is a very high priority.

User kilos on here researched this in depth before his WISP was sold from under him.

SAIX? Interesting... We'll for compatibility in our market I won't assume so, they "embraced" general limitations IMO quite easily. It felt like it's "new" to what they know / are used to and didn't want to put in 10% extra to "really" determine this.

SAIX? Do you guys resell SAIX as well or do they form part of your general upstream?

RB912 with Acconet 15dBi enclosure or RB750UP with nano loco or deliberant sectors.

Interesting... So DT is only used for the hotspot side?

I'm not spying / not a competitor in your area, we're in KZN :) - I just value meaningful (I know you out of experience from the myBB forums) input. Don't give a sh()t about sales or marketing cr(a)p - no better summary of potential/value than a normal / non promoted user even though as you said you do get approached by some "options." Again please don't be shy with your take on it - even if it's your personal opinion only.

Will look into "kilo" and his/her posts. However would still like your personal take/opinion/recommendation on a DPI "system."

Here's a good one for you. This week, we were approached by two men whos want us to roll ftth out in their complex. You can't run fibre for one house. We asked the managing agent to please email all the residents to gauge their feelings. This is what the managing agent had to say for himself:...

Flyers in the post boxes, or use whats left of the postal system to send a letter to all the houses/units in the complex.
Simple enough solution..
