Can a worm escape from a rar file or zip file without unzipping it.
Lets say i get a suspicious file which i did get through a p2p network
This file i scanned and avg found a worm in itand 2 trojans,I did not unzip it but said heal,and avg deleted it bit kept the worm in the vault and not the trojan,Can the worm still affect the pc.
Is it possible,as i have now a major problem.I am getting ip banned from most sites now.

I have checked the registry start ups,nothing,ran avg in safe mode,nothin
Checked basically everything,No problems

I recall seeing that Winzip had a vulnerability where code could be executed without you extracting or running any of the contents of the archive.
If they exploited that then that may have caused it, otherwise it's not possible for it to be executed.

Try running spybot s&d to check you don't have any spyware on your system
