WOW and UUnet

Look. My network automatically puts itself onto 100mb full-duplex.

Now I also experienced the uunet adsl drops my WoW connection. But listen to this. Then the same day I connect with saol unshaped, no more drops...
Same with ISadsl, just a shame none of the above give as good pings as uunet adsl. Honestly, I dont feel 1 bit bad that I left uunet in the dust.

I still experience drops occasionally on SAOL unshapped. Usually as soon as I log in which is generally in IF and check my mail box I get dropped. Like I say about 1/5 times. Also if I am in BB and there's a huge raid going on and I access an NPC I will get dropped. Also I have noticed the pings on SAOL have degraded a bit in the last week or so.

Hmmm

Ok i dunno if this is the same problem, but sounds close.

I am getting cut randomly from WoW, My pings are fine they flux from 300-600 the odd 800ms if Raiding.

As of Last staturday both me my m8 (He is on SAIX i am on Tiscali) Cut , and lost all international Bandwidth everything locally worked fine however! It was around 2am, so we both decided to pack up, head to bed, and try next morning.

Ever since that international cut we have been disconnecting from WoW.

If i login WoW i will be fine for 10 or 20 mins (sometimes only 30 seconds!) Then i just stop recieving from the server till my character times out. Unlike normal disconnects where it is quick it can take ages till i time out, until i force it closed (Ala Cntrl Alt - Delete)

If i dont close it , it will stay in the world but completely unplayable, Huge Delays, Up to 5 minutes.

Now as a test i decided to Alt-Tab while i stopped recieving from WoW as i was timing out, do a small download, load other websites, and it ran very slowly. ( i am on 128 ISDN) And i pulled down a 600kb file in only 5kbs. Again a test locally i ran at full 13/14 kbs.
My usual DownLoad speed before this all happend for International is 13/14kb/s

I personally DO NOT think its WoW fault here.

Anything internationally is giving huge spikes for me and some other friends around SA. Some others though are not having problems.

This started Last weekend as i said above for us.

Some other notes i found are :

-After 9/10pm it seems to clear itself up.
-Happens both on Europe and USA WoW Servers.
-When you spike, you have slow international bandwidth.

Hope this is understandable , and if any of you guys have same problem:(

Cheers
Rob

I experience spikes constantly in WoW but they generally occur every 30 minutes but go back to respectable pings with 2 minutes or so. I don't think it's a Blizzard issue... who knows what the problem is :(

I don't think the problem is only UUNET. Last week, using the normal Telkom Shaped ADSL, I experienced a drop, I rejoined to find my ping around 3000. I switched ADSL accounts, reset modem etc with no joy and ended up spending quality time with my girlfriend. Since after this event, every now and again WoW is still disconnecting after a couple of hours.

Another thing to note: Last Friday (20th May), I was fortunate to play during the day and I had a lower ping than during afterhours! At night my ping was hanging around 800-900, but during "peak" hours I was getting yellow bars on shaped ADSL.
