WoW on AllYouCanEat ADSL

Getting our ADSL installed next week and I just wanna make sure that I'll still be able to play WoW.

We're getting an AllYouCanEat 30gig account.

Will WoW work though?

It runs on iBurst, so SURELY it'll run on ADSL? Please say "Yes"? *prays*

Use PayVPN or if you got money Lowping from nukecap.

Lowping you will get flat 300-500ms with no packet loss at all.


PayVPN basically unshapes your account which the 30 gig is shaped. 600-800ms

I tried both...and seriously think you should consider Lowping.

Okay, so, how the hell does this work then? Can't these people just have "Explanation of our product, for dummies" somewhere?

So, I get this service, right, is that an ADDITIONAL R300 on top of my ISP costs? Or does that R300 include my ISP costs?

And when they say unmetered, it's uncapped, right?

Yup - it's an on-top-of service.

You pay teklom for your line.
You pay an ISP for an internet connection.
You pay nukeCap or the others for an Unshaped "Pipe" through your connection.

It's probably better for you to get an IS account with high local content allowance and bugger all international allowance, and then utilise nukeCap for the international side.

OUCH. Almost 1/2 a second for 32 bytes of data. It's pathetic.
I cannot play FPS's overseas - forget it.

Well, WoW runs fine on a ping of about 900ms. FPS games need a lot less than that.

*shrug* Guess I'll have to see how it goes.
