X-Box's are OVERHEATING !

Nope, tried them, played on them, too primative in my opinion. Say, have you ever played on a R10 000 PC on of the fastest graphics cards available ? Makes the PS2 look like a NES.

Actually my rig cost 15K :D and funny enough I still use my NES. If the games are good, I'll play em on the platform they were made for. Like Fear, that belongs on a PC. Same goes for something like God of War but for PS2.

Certain games are just better on certain platforms.

That is if the console doesn't explode, like our friend the XBOX 360 degrees C. :D

Oh and the PS2 for example was much better than anything the PC had to offer when it was released. expect the same for the PS3

The only reason why I don't enjoy playing games on the PC is the windoze factor. Incompatibility with graphics cards, too little ram etc and random crashes. Not to mention games even making my PC unstable to the point of I having to reformat the thing every now and then....

No... gaming needs to be on a console. Plug it in, loads the game and you play. No funny drivers to install, no stupid windows button/crashes. Just pure pleasure in gaming.

Nowadays you can hook up your console to your router and play online. So there is no excuse why you'd want a stupid PC to play games on.

Oh, did I mention I hate XBox? Not because it's microsoft, not because I am a Sony supporter... Just for the simple reason that it has a hard drive and OS running on it that can crash or get damaged...

@ 5by5: I agree certain games belong to certain platforms, ps2 ismore suited to sports games and platformers (I said suited not made for, dont flame me) and pcs are better for stradgys and shooters. It comes down to what games you play predominatly.

And im gona have to diasagre with you about the ps2, I think that the pc far outpreformed the ps2 on release, the ps3 has a lot more technology being pumped into it than sony have ever done. Im not certain about all this, so dont hurt me

So Acid you don't play games on your PC? That would be missing out!

Most people I know who own PS2s, either have or had a really *** PC - that's why they brought their PS2 in the first place.

Oh - the overheating issue - It's just the Power supply - some guy figured out that by lifting it off the floor so the air could circulate solves the problem.

Consoles serve a different market to PC's. You don't have to like one OR the other. There's nothing like an intense 64x firefight on a PC, but then nor is there the ability to sit down around a Telly with mates having a cold one while beating the cr@p out of each other.

lol@vrapt0r

heheh soz ppls. I'm not a dictator or anything :) I'm just pro-gaming!! on ALL consoles!

Brings up a good question tho. what was ahead at the release of the PS2?

EDIT:

Here we go http://arstechnica.com/articles/paedia/cpu/ps2vspc.ars

PS2 was better at release. don't think it lasted long tho.

Meanwhile, the solution to the XBOX thing is to make your XBOX float? hehhe everyone prob had it on carpets :D

/me looks at his 22k PC he is typing it on

FPS and RTS can stay on the PC, I agree there. Being the old man that I am and having to work around 16 hours a day on a PC, I kinda don't want to spend my time on a PC if I don't have to.

Which means that if you see me post here, I'm probably working.

BTW, I own two PS2's (**** knows why)

Acid, why would you need 2 PS2? No, wait. Why would you HAVE 2 PS2s?

Kids maybe?

lol, no. only 25.

you see, it all started when I bought the wrong 4 port splitter for the ps2. So instead of running around trying to find a retailer that had one that fit the old one, I bought the new slimline instead.

ek vattie *** nie

That kinda like buying a new car 'cos you got a flat tire :D

Meanwhile, the slimline is good 'cos the lan port is 100base, not 10base as on the old one with a HDD connector. However the slimline can't fit a HDD.

So you got the best of both worlds then!
