Today I saw an ad for X-DSL uncapped ADSL for R550 per month. Given that I currently get a mere 10gb a month from SAOL for R500 a month, this seems like a much better deal. It does mean running at 192kbps instead of 384, but I'm more interested in the total amount of gigabytes I can download in a month than I am in line speed.

However, their website is pretty sparse on details, so I was wondering if anyone has actually used this service and can tell me what it's like. I'm a bit skeptical, since this seems almost too good to be true. For instance, is it really uncapped, or will they start to complain if your bandwidth usage is too heavy?

Any feedback would be appreciated. And sorry if this has been discussed before - I briefly searched the forums before posting, and there was some discussion about X-DSL, but not much detail.

I haven't used it so I can't comment on how it performs, but a few things to consider:

* That price is excl. VAT, so you're looking at paying R 627.

* Running at 192kbps for 24/7 would give you roughly 47GB, which I doubt would happen, but for argument's sake let's use that figure. Now, the website states "Traffic split 75% local and 25% international", I don't know what that entails exactly, but let's apply that to the 47GB. That means 35.25GB local and 11.75GB international.

You'll have to decide whether that is viable depending on how much local and international you're going to use.

PLEASE NOTE --->>> All prices are exclusive of VAT. I noticed it when I saw the prices being redicilesly cheap.
