Xbox 360 network card not working...?

yea the new xbox 360 enables you to use both patch/crossover whilst the original xbox didnt..

This does not neccessarily mean thing wont work, both Vista/X360 will fall back to an 'address of last resort' (random IP from the 169.254.XX.XX range), and communication will occur using those addresses.

So that is where I keep getting that address from, thanks man... I thought my router was going nuts :D....

Proof of purchase? I picked it up and ran when it was so busy during the xmas period ;)

And then the xbox is flashed as well, rofl!

Well that might be why your network port is poked.... No one officially repairs the Xbox 360. If you have a problem you take it back to the place you got it from with a M$ reference number and they replace it instantly. That is unless you voided the warranty to play pirated games that is...

Sorry you are **** out of luck.

Hehe, Game are too stupid to figure out if warranty is void.

M$ reference number...? Do we have a call center in South Africa that I can phone to get this?

Maybe a little ... in a home network, its generally the broadband/ADSL router that acts as the DHCP server, so if yours is not dishing out addresses properly it may misconfigured ... unless of course you've turned the functionality off on purpose.

Yeah of course.... just not sure what it is at the moment :D It should be on the side of the box.

Anyway, when you phone them they will ask you a bunch of questions and when your flashed Xbox arrives at Xbox HQ they might not be so happy.

I have a router that has been reconfigured to act as an Access Point which bridges to my Telkom Marconi Router/DHCP server.

It is not stable though and when it loses it's connection my Xbox gets a weird IP address that is not from any of my ranges...
