Yes, mine was 384kbps also with Afrihost when they had the R20/GB special. I used about 5GB per month. First I used the 6 to 6 deal they had where you paid less for data that only worked from 6pm to 6am, used that to update systems, downloading torrents and music and steaming and browsing. Back in the days downloading patches for games took forever, like downloading about 700mb overnight...huge amount of data on 384kbps.

56k dailup via iafrica back in the 90's, using windows 98. With the R7 call plan from telkom.
192kb ADSL in 2006 - had mulitple lines upgrades since then.
100mb fibre since December2019

Took a whole weekend to download a movie via dial up and if someone used to landline your progress was lost. Some Telkom deal where it cost like R7 or something from Friday evening to Monday morning.

I upgraded my parents home line to a isdn line when I still lived with them, or at least in their house (father worked in Botswana back then so they were back and forth for 15 years), cost R200 once off back in 1999 to convert to a isdn line. Then bought a cheap usb isdn modem, plugged into the a home server, and set it to dial two 64k channels for a wopping 128k line lol. Over a weekend it cost R14 with that R7 thing they had going. Was 19/20 at the time.
