Verizon Business ADSL surpass expectations
“The response to our ADSL offering has been extremely positive, reaching numbers of unexpected proportions to date,” said Elia Tsouros, business development executive at Verizon Business SA.
This service is not directly aimed at residential customers, but rather at corporate clients. Tsouros is however confident that there is a need for their product in the current marketplace.
“I must however state that this product is focused at the corporate market as per the Verizon Business strategy and business model. With this positive uptake, I can confidently state that there is a definite need for this type of service and as such I am confident that we will continue to see rapid growth,” he said.
Verizon Business is confident that their product is currently one of the best in the marketplace, and that it will stand its ground against SAIX and Internet Solution’s premier ADSL products.
“The ADSL offering is totally unshaped with no limits on any protocol, allowing users to take full advantage of a high-performance always-on connection. Although this is not a consumer-focused solution, in areas of overlap we have found that it does and will continue to compete favourably,” said Tsouros
Availability and price
Verizon Business’ ADSL solution is currently available through qualified Verizon Business resellers. ISP’s like Vanilla currently sell this unshaped ADSL offering at R290 per month for a 3 GB account.
While this is more expensive that SAIX and IS’s shaped residential offering, it is competitively priced when compared to unshaped options. Currently SAIX unshaped ADSL accounts cost R 300-00 plus for a 3 GB account.
Alan Levin, MD of Vanilla an ISP reselling Verizon Business ADSL, says that end users are very happy with the service. “We have a guarantee of satisfaction with every new account. Anyone can try using it for up to 100MB and canceling at no cost. Not a single user has cancelled,” said Levin.
According to Levin this service is particularly suitable for gamers. “The users that rely on low latency are especially satisfied. World of Warcraft users get the green lights for the first time and individuals that work on servers overseas (telecommuters) are amazed at how their productivity is enhanced.”
