Hybrid ADSL ISP account launched
The new hybrid ADSL account, offered by the Internet Service Provider (ISP) Web Africa, enables users to choose between networks from a single account, ensuring maximum speed and reliability for their Web experience.
According to Matthew Tagg, MD of Web Africa, the account is particularly valuable for heavy Internet users who need to minimise lag for interactive applications where performance is critical, such as games, voice over IP (VoIP), online stock trading, etc.
“Users will be able to choose between Verizon or Telkom (SAIX) networks at any given time to ensure that they are getting optimum performance,” he says. “Its like buying a car from a dealer, and being able to choose diesel or petrol to run it, depending on if you’re racing or driving to work.”
There is no additional charge for this multi-realm functionality, and it will come as a standard benefit to all of Web Africa’s unshaped products. The cost of a 1 GB unshaped account is R 125-00, while the 4 GB service retails for R 499-00.
