Hybrid ADSL ISP account launched

Now this is a great idea, just a pity 4Gb costs the same as 1Gbx4. I think this is what I want.
 
What is international latency like on Verizon compared to SAIX ? Anyone tested both?
 
does this count for pre-paid unshaped aswell ?

Well SAIX does not perform full stop. I have tested both, Verizon is superior...
That offering is nice, but I see Vanilla does 3Gigs of Verizon for R290!
And add a gig makes 4 Gigs for R409!.
Hmm...
starting to look less attractive, granted it's a unique service to have a backup account.

I am currently with Imaginet, you say Verison is superior?

How much latency difference do you have?
 
Verizon is a different bandwidth provider, you might be able to get a Verizon account from Imaginet, it's not dependant on the ISP.

Verizon however only do unshaped bandwidth, so it is more expensive, but the performance looks great from pings I've seen..
 
I am getting a much higher ping to google.co.za on Verizon
 
*cough* I tested SAIX unshaped vs Verizon unshaped and i was getting close to 4Mbps on my Verizon a/c but struggle to get 1Mbps with the SAIX equivallent... as far as i am concerned, the latency doesn't even feature with that equasion. I will go where I get 4Mbps. The test was done locally. With international tests, I could get 1mbps to the US east coast on Verizon and couldn't even get that to telkomsa on the SAIX account. I might just get one of these accounts next month so I can really do a proper side by side test.

Local stuff will differ because of peering connections. try pinging something relevant... what are the international game server IPs? At least with Verizon you are guaranteed that there is no shaping. With SAIX there have been posts on this board where users have discovered they were being shaped although they were paying for unshaped - prolly admin bos ups.
 
I was getting 998 - 1100 in World of Warcraft EU and 440 - 550 using SAIX

Will test again later and tomz etc

Now please launch another hybrid ADSL account.

This requested product makes provision for international on one leg and local on another--oh, and both legs as prepaid.

I was actually hoping for some sort of hyrbid local int thing aswell when I read it myself, but I also like this Verizon/SAIX thing if Verizon will give me some decent results.

Currently SAIX is getting me 362ms in WoW where Verizon actually hit 7200.
Must just be some issue on their network today. Lets see how things go.
