Monster Asus Wi-Fi router unveiled
Asus has revealed its RT-AC5300 Wi-Fi router, which it claims is the fastest Wi-Fi router in the world.
The Asus RT-AC5300 is a tri-band wireless router that delivers up to 1,000Mbps on the 2.4GHz band and up to 2,167Mbps on each of the two 5GHz bands.
The router promises to give users a low-latency gaming experience and 4K/UHD video streaming anywhere in the home.
With eight external antennas in a four-transmit, four-receive (4T4R) configuration, both Wi-Fi range and signal stability are “dramatically improved”.
The RT-AC5300 Wi-Fi router provides coverage up to 500 square meters.
AiRadar beamforming focuses the Wi-Fi signal, giving faster, clearer, and stronger Wi-Fi performance for each device, said the company.
Tri-Band Smart Connect ensures each device is assigned automatically to the most appropriate band for maximum speed and stability.
Multi-user MIMO (MU-MIMO) enables multiple devices to connect at their maximum speeds without slowing down the network, while Link Aggregation (802.11ad) can combine two LAN ports into one 2Gbps wired connection using two network cables.
