Pocket sized router for mobile connectivity
Nology has announced the availability of the Billion 3300NX router, a pocket-sized multi-function router with plug and share technology.
Measuring 9.1cm by 7.8cm and 3.1cm wide, the 3300NX is ultra portable, making it easier to share a mobile connection while on the move.
The device offers 3.5G USB connectivity, wireless N technology with up to 300 Mbps transfer rates, auto-failover between 3G and eWAN and the ability to use the router as a print server, FTP server, Webcam server and Samba server.
“This innovative router also offers three devices in one highly compact box, with Router Mode, AP Mode and AP-Client Mode delivering a variety of different applications,” says Riaan Leuschner, Managing Director at Nology.
“The router mode enables high speed Internet connectivity to be shared wirelessly, while AP mode enables the 3300NX to be plugged into an existing router to expand wireless range, and AP-Client mode enables devices without built-in wireless capability to be plugged into the device for connectivity.”
“Using one of the USB ports, a printer can be connected to the router for wireless printer sharing, or connect a Webcam to use the device as a surveillance system. The built-in FTP and Samba server allow sharing of data from external hard drives, flash drives or card readers. Users can also take advantage of multiple SSIDs to allow access to different networks through a single access point,” says Leuschner.
The Billion 3300NX is available immediately from Nology, and will retail for around R1099.00 including VAT.
