New social network based on your passions
The founder of Google’s Orkut social network, Orkut Büyükkökten, has launched a new social service called the Hello Network, Venturebeat reported.
Hello is available for iOS and Android, and can use the contacts in your address book to find friends.
Users selects five “personas” they are interested in, such as photographer, animal lover, actor, foodie, geek, parent, or traveller.
Venturebeat noted that although you are limited to five personas, Hello gives you the option of swopping out ones you no longer are passionate about.
When you post something, you have to assign it to at least one of the five personas you follow.
You can also explore what other people have posted in any persona.
Hello then uses a learning algorithm to find people you should connect with.
