AMD launches Ryzen Threadripper 1900X

AMD has launched its latest Threadripper CPU, the Ryzen 1900X.

The unlocked processor features:

• 8 Cores and 16 Threads
• 3.8GHz Base Clock
• 4GHz Max Turbo Core Speed
• 16MB L3 Cache / 4MB L2 Cache
• 180W TDP
• 14nm CMOS

The processor is cheaper than its Threadripper counterparts, coming in at $549, and supports four-channel DDR4 RAM.

“8 cores provide 16 threads of serious multi-processing power, while 20MB of combined cache and vast I/O from the enthusiast-grade AMD X399 platform stand ready to feed the beast,” said AMD.
