Internet Solutions averts critical outage
Internet Solutions (IS) were one of the many casualties of Eskom’s load shedding in Gauteng, and due to a generator failure nearly experienced a critical outage.
Internet Solutions confirmed that the combination of the electricity outage and generator failure prompted them to notify their customers of a potential critical outage. As a matter of precaution the company also switched off its internal IT systems.
While IS was running on UPS power the Eskom power came back on averting any downtime to its customers, but the company was subsequently informed by Eskom that there will be more load shedding within the next 24 hours.
“This will give us enough time to resolve the issue with the faulty generator and ensure that three out of three generators are working when the next load shedding occurs,” said IS spokesman Paul Schonborn.
