8ta slashes prepaid data prices
Telkom’s consumer mobile arm, 8ta, has slashed the prices of their prepaid data packages. However, it isn’t clear whether the price cuts are for a new promotion, or whether they will be permanently reduced.
Most of 8ta’s data bundles received a 20% price cut, with the exception of its 2GB bundle which saw a 30% reduction, and the 5GB package which now costs 16.75% less.
8ta has made no official announcement regarding the new prices, which were spotted by a MyBroadband forum member late on the evening of 9 January 2012 through 8ta’s *180# USSD menu st night .
The mobile network operator was contacted for comment, and promised to provide feedback by this afternoon.
