Google HUD glasses spotted

Google’s Heads Up Display (HUD) glasses are real, and a prototype of the device has been spotted according to 9to5Google.

Rumours were spreading in December that Google was working on a wearable HUD that could directly access Google’s cloud-based location services and detail users’ surroundings. The information would then be displayed on the glasses.

The glasses will do the above and more according to 9to5Google. They will have a small front facing camera with flash to gather information about the surroundings as well as take photos. There will also be a built in navigation system, I/O ports for voice input and output, and hardware specifications equal to previous generation Android phones like the Samsung Galaxy S.

Google isn’t the only company working on wearable technology. Apple, Recon Instruments and Motorola are all reportedly working on similar technologies.
