R 99-00 per month 3G offer
Internet Solutions (IS) confirmed that they have launched an offering where they will sell the data cards – packaged with a 6 month usage contract – to the market.
The cost for this service is R499-00 up front for the hardware and activation and R 99-00 per month for a 6 month period entitling the user to 250 MB of usage per month. These prices exclude VAT and users will not be able to purchase the hardware without the 6 month 250 MB data contract.
The price of R 99-00 for 250 MB of data is significantly less than any mobile provider, and IS said that it uses its own bandwidth to serve these 3G clients.
While IS does not currently sell this directly to consumers it is already available through their reseller channel.
One of these resellers, Hyperlink, says that the uptake of this product has been tremendous. “The response after only a single ad was overwhelming,” said Jacqueco Peenz, MD of Hyperlink.
While these data cards may not be new, IS said that they will replace any data cards issued to clients which may be faulty.
