R 99-00 per month 3G offer

You get the old 3G cards that were probably handed back at the huge swapover to HSDPA last year sometime, or at least thats what I'm guessing.

Terms and conditions:
- R499 activation fee, includes data card
- 6 Month mandatory contract
- No option to purchase equipment after contract expires
- 250MB usage a month
- No HSDPA, only 3G (MAX 384Kbps)
- Equipment issued is secondhand
- All prices exclude VAT
 
Just another rip off. Old technology being sold as a "bargain"

R 400 per Gig? How the F@$k is that cheap?

So after the contract you give it back?
 
Vodacom 2gig bundle = R389 incl. VAT

IS equivalent: 250meg x 8 = R99 x 8 = R792 excl. VAT

Add to that the R499 setup fee, and after 6 months the card still doesn't belong to you. And you're limited to 250megs/month, so you'd have to purchase additional bundles.

One moerse RIP-OFF.
 
I wonder how many times these companies can repackage/bundle old stuff and sell it to the public?

I also think they are deaf to consumer needs, whats with 250 meg?

One presentation I received just yesterday was 40meg on its own.
Seems the providers are intent on dumbing down the internet with these minuscule bandwidth allocations, maybe we should all just move to DOS next week. They might consider it progress. Hell TELKOM might even brag about it at their next IT chit chat.
 
And for ppl who already have a 3g card ?

250 meg would probally just be enought for my mobile mail(headers only)...

I use adsl as a primary
 
R 99-00 per month for a 6 month period entitling the user to 250 MB of usage per month.

Wtf? What in fcuks name can u do with that? Check your gmail account once? IS can lick my nuts!
 
I've noticed a trend in SA.

1. Products are expensive but the supplier puts on all these bells and whistles to make the product sound revolutionary.

2. They are so complicated, the average person doesn't actually understand what they are getting.

3. A lot of new products/packages which are offered seem to take a step backwards. 250mb should be laughed at. Look at iBursts offer - something like 40mb?

South African companies are laughable!
 
On which cellular network is the 3G service provided? I assume it's Vodacom but that isn't confirmed anywhere.

Hyperlink are supposedly a reseller, but there is nothing about this offer on their crap website?
