New Sidewinder X3 Mouse Announced

Microsoft announced a new addition to its Sidewinder family of products – the Sidewinder X3 mouse.

The mouse, which is set to retail at R599.00, is an eight button gaming unit that is reported to be both small and ergonomically designed for performance. The X3 will also feature a 2000 dpi laser tracking engine with on the fly switching between sensitivity modes.

“Our research shows that in-game comfort continues to be the main consideration for PC gamers,” said John Press, product marketing manager for Microsoft Hardware. “We designed this mouse to be ambidextrous and small in size, providing comfort to a wider variety of people and making it ideal for gaming as well as everyday use.”

Similarly to its predecessors, the Sidewinder X5 mouse, the X3 has five programmable main buttons that are customizable to game preferences and also has an estimated main button life of up to ten million clicks. The mouse will also include IntelliPoint Software to create and assign macros, a wide dented scroll wheel, low profile lateral side buttons and wide glide feet.

The X3 will be widely available in May.
