Slow Afrihost ADSL

Snail slow network cable

ADSL subscribers using Afrihost in the Northern region of the Internet Service Provider’s network may find that downloads are slower than usual and that ping times are longer, Afrihost told subscribers today (15 July 2013).

This is due to issues affecting Afrihost’s IP Connect (IPC) services at Telkom, the ISP said.

According to Afrihost, all subscribers routed through their Johannesburg IPC, which includes the whole of Gauteng, are affected.

“MTN have escalated the issue to Telkom, and we are awaiting their feedback,” Afrihost said in a network status update on its website. “We will inform clients as soon as we have more information.”
