5 Mbps Wireless DSL versus 4 Mbps ADSL

iBurst recently launched its Wireless DSL service, offering speeds of between 5 Mbps and 15 Mbps and monthly usage limits of between 60 GB and 160 GB.  The service is aimed at the business market, and with a contention ratio of 10:1 should provide good average speeds.

“There is a major gap in the SME market for a solution that meets the needs of businesses and high-end consumers for high quality access at a price that’s not going to break the bank. Wireless DSL has been designed to compete with both the 4096kbps ADSL service as well as higher end bonded DSL services, but performs better and provides advanced features such as symmetrical throughput,” said iBurst CEO Jannie van Zyl.

The new iBurst Wireless DSL offering is priced between R5,080 to R10,860 per month depending on line speeds and data caps.  The service will compete directly against bonded ADSL solutions from companies like Vox DataPro and Technology Concepts.
