Neotel versus Neotel
In April this year Neotel experienced a shortage in router devices for their NeoFlex range. As a result prospective customers were forced to wait longer than they had anticipated to make use of the provider’s home and small business data package.
At the time Makul Sharma, Executive Head of the Consumer Business Unit at Neotel, revealed that the stock shortage was due to an unprecedented demand for the product, adding that the company ordered a limited number of units in order to accurately measure the potential uptake of the service.
A lack of stock has again become a problem for the company, resulting in customers waiting longer that the usual 5-7 working days before delivery.
The company admits that “there was a slight shortage of stock on the NeoFlex Data product, but would like to confirm that any former stock issues have now been resolved and all products are available.”
“There are no outstanding issues around stock levels and customers can have the peace of mind that they will be connected in the fastest possible time through Neotel.”
Despite assurances from Neotel, consumer complaints have come to light that not all stock shortages have been addressed. One potential customer, who wished to remain anonymous, has waited for 10 working days without being informed that there is a shortage of stock.
To clarify the matter a call was made to the Neotel helpdesk regarding availability of the NeoFlex package. A customer care operator said customers could “not expect to get that [NeoFlex package] anytime soon” and that a number of accounts were still pending device delivery.
It seems despite confirmation that stock issues have been resolved call agents on the ground are unaware of it.
