Vodacom launches Reverse Charge service

Vodacom’s new Reverse Charge service, available to all its customers, allows customers to phone a Vodacom Contract customer even without airtime. The service does not require any activation, subscription or airtime.

A Vodacom customer who wishes to use Reverse Charge simply dials 082 180 plus the full cellphone number (example 082 180 082 123 4567) of the Vodacom Contract customer he/she wishes to call. The contract customer has the option to accept or reject the Reverse Charge call. 

By accepting a Reverse Charge call, the recipient will be liable for the cost of the call at their applicable out-of-bundle Vodacom-to-Vodacom peak or off-peak Contract package rates. 

“Vodacom is the first mobile operator in Africa to offer a reverse charged call service. Customers can relax and have peace of mind knowing that they can always stay in touch,” says Dot Field, Chief Communications Officer, Vodacom Group.   

“With Vodacom’s Reverse Charge customers can make calls as and when needed. This service is ideal and convenient when airtime is low and budgets are tight,” concludes Field.
