Gamers in test match
For the first time in South Africa, Mind Sports South Africa will be hosting a computer games test match against Sweden this weekend.
The first test match in Firday, in which the teams will play Warcraft 3 Defense of the Ancients Allstars (DotA), will take place in Hall 29 at the University of the Witwatersrand. The games will begin at 5pm.
The South African Proteas team will take on the SK Gaming team from Sweden. The SK Gaming team won the Electronic Sports World Cup Masters of Paris this year, making them the best DotA team worldwide.
The test match will be a prelude to the African Continental Championships which will run for the duration of the weekend. The weekend will conclude with an exhibition match in which the SK gaming team will play Counter Strike 1.6 on Sunday afternoon.
