SITA appoints acting CEO
The State Information Technology Agency (SITA) announced over the weekend that Femke Pienaar, chief of business operations, had been appointed as acting CEO of the organisation.
Former Sita CEO, Llewellyn Jones, resigned his position following a dispute with the board of the organisation. Jone left the organisation on July 31.
The Sita board is now responsible for selecting and recommending a shortlist of candidates for the CEO position. The final appointment of a new CEO will be done by minister of public services and administration, Geraldine Fraser-Moleketi.
"We would obviously seek to conclude this process in the shortest possible timeframe and we will be making every effort to expedite the matter," says Thenjiwe Chikane, Chairman of Sita.
Chikane says the board intends contracting an executive placement agency to manage and oversee the administration of the recruitment process and that due consideration will be given to all suitable candidates, both within and outside the organisation.
"Furthermore we regard the recent media reports concerning the former CEO’s resignation as unfortunate and we will thoroughly interrogate all the allegations which have been speculated on."
