DSTV not cancelling top shows
Rumours have been circulating recently regarding the proposed cancellation of a number of popular American series. According to a post made on Monday on the DSTV Forum, Chuck, Dollhouse, Reaper, Castle, Kings, My Name is Earl, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, In the Motherhood and Knight Rider were all in danger of being terminated by the provider.
The good news, however, is that these rumours are untrue. MyBroadband approached MultiChoice with the allegations this week to discover that the majority of the shows had simply been rescheduled.
– Chuck season 2 (22 episodes) is due to start on Tuesday, 9 June at 19:30. This means that the show will be moving into the slot previously allocated to Dollhouse;
– Reaper season 2 (22 episodes) is scheduled to start on Friday, 5 June at 22:00;
– Castle season 1 (10 episodes) is due to start on MND on Friday, 2 October at 19:30;
– In the Motherhood season 1 (7 episodes) will begin on MND on Thursday, 29 October at 19:00;
– My Name is Earl season 4 (27 episodes) will air on MND on Monday, 19 October at 19:00;
– Without a Trace series 7 (24 episodes) is currently airing on MNET SERIES and is due to end in late August. The season will also be repeated on MND in December. Information about series 8 is not yet available; and
– Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles season 2 will be running exclusively on MNET ACTION from 11 September onwards.
Dollhouse, Kings and Knight Rider, however, are still due to be rescheduled although there are no official plans to remove any of the programmes from the MultiChoice roster at this time, the company said.
