AMD releases most powerful GPU
AMD today announced the release of its most powerful, albeit most costly, 3D graphics card to the market.
The ATI Firepro V8750 is aimed at workstation professionals who utilise programs such as CAD which require high levels of 3D rendering and processing. According to AMD it offers four times the processing power and memory bandwidth of competing solutions.
The V8750 features 800 shader engines and a memory bandwidth of 115.2GB/s. In addition it includes 2GB of GDDR5 frame buffer memory, a dual link enabled DVI output and a Stereo sync output and 90 certifications for independent software providers.
This combination means that through the use of an ATI Firepro 3D graphics accelerator engine in the same workstation the V8750 can display on up to four monitors.

The V8750 is currently available at a price of $1,799 (R13,870).
