License conversion completed
The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) has published a notice about the converted Broadcasting Services, Electronic Communications Services, Electronic Communications Network Services in terms of section 93 of the Electronic Communications Act.
As spectrum licences are renewable on an annual basis, the Authority has resolved not to include those in this process as they have already been aligned with the Act.
However, the regulator said that it will include those spectrum licences which are affected by the re-positioning of obligations in this process.
The licensees were notified by ICASA to collect their licences from ICASA Head Office or Regional Offices from 16 January 2009.
According to ICASA no converted licence will be e-mailed to licensees.
A complete list of all converted licences will also be available on the ICASA website and from the ICASA library.
