Two new DSTV Channels

MultiChoice has recently announced that it will be adding two new channels to its DStv stable:  Vuzu (http://www.vuzu.tv/) and Ignition (http://www.ignitiontv.co.za/).

Vuzu, which will be hosted on channel 123, is a youth focused entertainment channel which will feature international series and locally produced shows.  The channel will feature a wide variety of genres including drama, reality, comedy, animation, extreme sports, gaming, and magazine style shows.

Ignition is a dedicated motoring program which will be hosted on DStv channel 265 from 4 July.  Ignition currently forms part of the financial channel Summit TV, but the popularity of the show means that it will now have its own dedicated channel with four additional hours of fresh programming.

These additional channels come at a price.  Vuzu effectively replaces the youth channel GO while it is speculated that Multichoice has decided to cut 2Mbps off their M-Net HD bitrate.  The company has also recently announced that it will discontinue some of the less popular interactive services on DStv, including the All Africa Poker channel.
