Second draft terrestrial broadcasting frequency plan

The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) has announced that it has published the second draft terrestrial broadcasting frequency plan 2008 in Government Gazette number 32385.

In October 2008, ICASA published the first draft terrestrial broadcasting frequency plan in Government Gazette number 31501, the purpose of which was to add further detail to the allotment of broadcasting frequencies, with specific emphasis on frequencies that will be assigned for digital migration purposes. After receiving comments on the first draft the feedback was analyzed and incorporated into the second draft.

ICASA has again asked for feedback from interested parties on the latest terrestrial broadcasting frequency plan, and encouraged stakeholders to send written representations to the regulator.
