New Telkom pricing kicks in
In June this year Telkom announced that it had filed its latest tariff adjustments with ICASA, which sees an overall price increase of 1.7%. The new tariffs kick in today.
From today onwards per second tariffs for Standard and Callmore time increase by 4.2 cents and 2.1 cents per minute respectively. The tariffs for long distance calls remain unchanged.
PrepaidFone as well as postpaid residential and business line rental charges increase by 5.5% while the PrepaidFone Waya-Waya annual subscription increases from R120.00 to R130.00 per annum. PrepaidFone local and long distance calls increase by 10%.
Overall, the impact on international call rates will not be significant, with tariffs to certain destinations increasing while calls to fixed-line destinations in countries such as the UK, USA, Germany, France, Portugal, New Zealand, China and Australia decreasing.
While no price cuts are in store for ADSL users, Telkom did announce that TelkomInternet all access 2GB and 3GB standard offering bandwidth customers will see their monthly usage limits increase to 3GB and 5GB respectively.
