Altech Autopage joins broadband war

Altech Autopage Cellular believes that the proliferation of network operators, Internet Service Providers and connectivity options often means end-users don’t end up with the best broadband solution for their needs.

“Typically a single solution is provided whereas the recent launch of Broadband Central by Altech Autopage Cellular means a full range of connectivity solutions can now be offered to meet the needs of consumers and businesses alike,” the company said in a press statement.

According to Marketing Director Justin Hume, the message behind Broadband Central is clear. “There is massive hype in the marketplace around broadband and data, but the approach by most companies has been generic. There tends to be a one-sided focus, mainly around the consumer and SME market with the assumption that one size fits all.”

With Broadband Central, Altech Autopage Cellular has developed tailor made solutions as well as providing all the standard packages that customers are familiar with.

Notes Hume: “There are so many options and also so many variables in the pricing, benefits and limitations of the options for connectivity that end users can be mislead. You don’t want to choose an ADSL line when you’re on the road most of the time. You don’t necessarily want 3G if cost is a primary consideration. And you may not want a coverage-dependent or capped service.”

“We’ve become the country’s leading independent service provider on that basis. Our position as an independent means we are uniquely positioned to capitalise on multiple network environments to access the full range of the connectivity services. We then add value by gearing those services to meet specific needs, whether for consumer or business needs.”

Hume points out that the telecommunications market is benefiting from increased competition and rapid innovation, despite the stuttering economy. “Broadband Central lets you take advantage of the competition and innovation while also keeping your costs as low as possible for the services you need. And you can do so without having to keep an eye on the market; we do that for our customers.”

Hume adds that a recent group acquisition has given it an “in-house” Internet Service Provider (Altech Technology Concepts) and technology specialist. “As a result, the first product we are now able to bring to market is Powerband which provides speeds of up to 10 Mbps at a fraction of the cost of an equivalent dedicated leased line,” he says.
